About this award A Female Information Security Officer (FISO) is an executive responsible for the information security and cybersecurity activities of an organisation, playing a key role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of its information assets. This award recognises a woman who has demonstrated outstanding contribution and leadership in information security. Who may apply Women serving in an information-security officer or equivalent role at their organisation. What the judges assess - Understanding and vision: your understanding of the organisation's mission, vision and values in fostering a robust and resilient cybersecurity posture, and how your actions demonstrate a sustained commitment to cybersecurity. - Engagement: how, as part of the information-security team, you communicate with and engage organisational leaders, the workforce, key partners, customers and stakeholders on cybersecurity, and contribute to policies and operations that succeed now and in the future. - Standards and tooling: your contribution to implementing security standards and frameworks and to deploying security tools, framed against the core functions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0. - Tools and technologies: your hands-on experience across threat detection and monitoring, endpoint security, incident response and forensic analysis, security automation and orchestration, and identity and access management (IAM/PAM). - Qualifications and experience: relevant post-qualification degrees and professional certifications in GRC, privacy, information systems or cybersecurity, with your commercial experience in the field. - Contribution to the community: how you have contributed to the wider GRC, privacy, information systems or cybersecurity community, and any awards or recognition received.
